Sunflower meanings include happiness, optimism, honesty, longevity, peace, admiration, and devotion. The sunflower possibly surpasses all others in terms of its universal power to bring joy to people. With a round face and bright yellow petals resembling rays of sunshine, the sunflower has important cultural and spiritual significance to people around the world.
A lesser-known fact about sunflowers is that they are symbols of nuclear disarmament. Hence, sunflower meaning also includes peace.
When the Soviet Union broke apart in 1991, the new nation of Ukraine held the third-largest arsenal of nuclear weapons. In 1996, Ukraine committed to total nuclear disarmament. To honor the occasion, representatives from the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia planted sunflowers in the locations where there had previously been nuclear missile silos.1
Why Sunflowers?
But why did they plant sunflowers? Not only are the bright yellow flowers symbols of optimism, they also possess a special capability: they absorb radioactive isotopes from the environment. In fact, sunflowers have been planted at both the Chernobyl and Fukushima nuclear disaster sites because they help to remove radioactive toxins from the environment.

Jewelry is delicate and while it is made with materials made to last, some care should be taken: “last on- first off” put your jewelry on after getting dressed and applying hairspray and perfume, do not sleep, swim or bathe with your jewelry on. Always remember to remove your jewelry before doing strenuous activity or messy tasks. Tasks like gardening, washing the dishes, and other types of household cleaning should also be done without jewelry on. Store your jewelry in a dedicated pouch or box. **if your piece includes a laser charm: clean any marks with a lint free soft cloth & vinegar. Do not scrub! It may scratch!! To enhance the shine, use a drop of oil with a lint free cloth
Gift wrapping and packaging
Each piece comes in its own keepsake bag and is sent in a bubble padded envelope. I don't send boxes to save on costs and shipping, and also limit the amount of garbage generated. The costs saved are passed on to you!
I can also wrap your purchase - usually with old music sheets, and added ribbon.

Sizing details
To determine bracelet size, follow the steps below.
1. Measure the wrist where you would normally wear your bracelet using a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper.
2. If using a plain strip of paper, mark your strip with a pen where the end of the bracelet needs to be. Then measure the paper strip with a ruler. This is the wrist size.
3. To find the bracelet size, increase the wrist measurement by the increment below, based on how the customer wants the bracelet to fit.
For: a snug fit, add 1/4" to 1/2".
For a comfort fit, add 3/4" to 1".
For a loose fit, add 1-1/4".
Keep in mind that the size of the beads will also come into play for the fit. I am happy to resize a piece prior to shipping when I can.
