Malas are traditionally used for Meditation and Prayer. "Mala" translates to meditation garland in Sanskrit. It is a hand knotted necklace consisting of 108 beads for keeping track of mantras during meditation.
These 108 bead Malas are made with semi-precious stones that hold beautiful energy within each stone. 108 is significant for so many reasons and there are many interpretations for the number 108. Some say that there are 108 stages on the journey of the human soul, while others believe 108 centering breaths will bring enlightenment. Another belief is that one hundred eight is a sacred number with 1 representing the universe or your highest truth, 0 representing humility in your spiritual practice, and 8 representing timelessness and infinity. Say your favorite affirmation or mantra 108 times and attract that healing energy into your life.
In the Buddhist tradition, the tassel represents the petals of the lotus flower and path to enlightenment. The lotus flower emerges from the mud and is a beautiful representation of your own transformation.
While mala beads can be used for meditation, many people simply like to wear them as a necklace to foster serenity and mindfulness, and/or because of the properties of the particular gemstones used.

How to use a Mala for meditation:
1. Get in a comfortable position sitting or lying down
2. Take some deep breaths and relax your body
3. Choose a Mantra or Affirmation that suits you
4. Hold your Mala in one hand loosely
5. With your other hand touch the Guru Bead (larger one at the bottom)
6. Move the beads through your fingers and repeat your Mantra or Affirmation with each passing bead.

Jewelry is delicate and while it is made with materials made to last, some care should be taken: “last on- first off” put your jewelry on after getting dressed and applying hairspray and perfume, do not sleep, swim or bathe with your jewelry on. Always remember to remove your jewelry before doing strenuous activity or messy tasks. Tasks like gardening, washing the dishes, and other types of household cleaning should also be done without jewelry on. Store your jewelry in a dedicated pouch or box. **if your piece includes a laser charm: clean any marks with a lint free soft cloth & vinegar. Do not scrub! It may scratch!! To enhance the shine, use a drop of oil with a lint free cloth
Gift wrapping and packaging
Each piece comes in its own keepsake bag and is sent in a bubble padded envelope. I don't send boxes to save on costs and shipping, and also limit the amount of garbage generated. The costs saved are passed on to you!
I can also wrap your purchase - usually with old music sheets, and added ribbon.

Sizing details
To determine bracelet size, follow the steps below.
1. Measure the wrist where you would normally wear your bracelet using a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper.
2. If using a plain strip of paper, mark your strip with a pen where the end of the bracelet needs to be. Then measure the paper strip with a ruler. This is the wrist size.
3. To find the bracelet size, increase the wrist measurement by the increment below, based on how the customer wants the bracelet to fit.
For: a snug fit, add 1/4" to 1/2".
For a comfort fit, add 3/4" to 1".
For a loose fit, add 1-1/4".
Keep in mind that the size of the beads will also come into play for the fit. I am happy to resize a piece prior to shipping when I can.
